Transculture at The Cinema Museum this month will feature a rare screening of The Amazing Truth about Queen Raquela, with a special introduction by Nadine Barcelona from the Society of Transsexual Women of the Philippines (STRAP), and a video appearance by the star of the film Raquela Rios recorded specially for the screening of this movie.

Raquela Rios

Raquela, a trans-woman from the Philippines, dreams of escaping the streets of Cebu City for a fairy tale life in Paris. The film won the Teddy Award for Best Feature Film at the 2008 Berlin International Film Festival.
