The Cinema Museum, London

Close-up of wall-mounted collection of projector nameplates

With the whirlwind advance of electronic digital projection the Cinema Museum believes it is crucial to preserve the history of mechanical projection.

The Museum’s collection includes projectors, sound systems, lenses and other projection miscellanea, including many early examples. There are professional 35mm and 16mm projectors of major makes, together with many amateur home movie projectors, including 9.5mm gauge. With our storage capacity at a premium, we are grateful for the help of, among others, the Projected Picture Trust at Bletchley Park.
