An Evening with Derren Nesbitt

Sat 25 May 2013 @ 19:30 · Events

Charismatic actor Derren Nesbitt was born in London and trained at RADA. “A rather intriguing actor”, he has a long list of credits in both film and television. Often portraying the villain, he is known for his strong, intelligent performances in the WW1 aviation spectacle The Blue Max (1966) and as a cold war agent pursuing Frank Sinatra in The Naked Runner (1967). Probably his best remembered role was as Major von Hapen, an ice cold SS officer nearly foiling Clint Eastwood and Richard Burton’s plans in Where Eagles Dare (1968). His directing includes The Amorous Milkman (1975).

His television work has ranged from The Prisoner, in which he was Number Two in “It’s Your Funeral”, the role of Detective Chief Inspector Jordan in the long running series Special Branch, The Adventures of William Tell and Doctor Who, and he also acts regularly in the theatre.

Derren Nesbitt will be in conversation with film critic and actor Jonathan Rigby.

Doors open at 18.30 for a 19.30 start.
