Nell GwynThe Kennington Bioscope is a regular cinema event featuring live accompaniment to silent films that takes place at the Cinema Museum.

The main feature is Nell Gwyn (1926), directed by Herbert Wilcox, and stars Dorothy Gish as Nell Gwyn and Randle Ayrton as Charles II. This is a 35mm print from the BFI.

This British historical romance is based on the 1926 novel Mistress Nell Gwyn by Marjorie Bowen and follows the life of Nell Gwynne, the mistress of Charles II. Wilcox later made a second version of Nell Gwyn in 1934, starring Anna Neagle and Sir Cedric Hardwicke.

A programme of silent shorts precedes the main film.
