The Kennington Bioscope is a regular cinema event featuring live accompaniment to silent films that takes place at the Cinema Museum.

One of a handful of leading feature-film roles for Syd Chaplin, older brother of the more famous Charlie, Charley’s Aunt is an adaptation of Brandon Thomas’s 1892 farce of the same name about an Oxford University student who cross-dresses as a woman to fool a visitor.

There’ll be a feast of Syd Chaplin rarities and delights introduced by Dave Glass with a guest introduction from Lisa Stein Haven in the US.

Live piano accompaniment. Colin Sell will be playing for Charley’s Aunt.

Silent film with intertitles which may be suitable for the deaf and hard of hearing.
