Join us for a unique evening of early French cinema combined with saxophonic sound tracks!
Deac Rossell will be presenting 6 short films from early French cinema, including from Segundo de Chomón’s latter years at Pathé, as well as other Pathé films and a Gaumont coloured film.
The Crooks Saxes will be playing soundtracks for the films, as well as playing a brief selection of film music ranging from the 1920s to 2022s.
Profits from this event will go to The Cinema Museum.
Deac Rossell is an early cinema expert who has fronted contemporary musicians accompanying silent films at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the National Film Theatre (as was), London, and other venues.
The Crooks Saxes are a South London based saxophone quartet. They have played all over London at indoor and outdoor venues, public events and private parties. Follow them on Twitter.
Doors open at 18.30, for a 19.30 start. There will be an interval during the evening.
Refreshments will be available in our licensed cafe/bar.
