Millennium Mambo The London East Asia Film Festival was established in 2015. LEAFF brings an exciting line-up of films from East Asia to the London audience each year. This year will be the 4th Edition of LEAFF.

Tonight, LEAFF presents the Stories of Women strand in partnership with the National Film and Television School, curated by Valerie Li.

Millennium Mambo (2001), directed by Hou Hsiao-hsien, in Mandarin with English subtitles.

Vicky, narrates from 2011 about her life 10 years earlier. She describes her youth and story of her changing life at the beginning of the new millennium. She works as a hostess in a trendy bar. Vicky is torn between two men, Hao-Hao and Jack, and her journeys display the parallel journey of the psyche and how one girl deals with her fleeting youth.
