Jo Burt is a British songwriter, storyteller, singer and guitar player. He’s best known for his incredible work with musical legends such as Freddie Mercury, The Troggs and Black Sabbath.

In fact, his CV stretches even further, citing names such as Bob Geldof, Tom Robinson, Roger Taylor, Rick Parfitt, Jimmy Nail, James Rayne and Deborah Bonham. Guest performances include Peter Gabriel, Robert Plant, Tony Hadley and Noel Gallagher… to name just a few! As if that’s not enough, Jo’s extensive touring credits include opening for: Elton John, The Police, ‘The Firm’ (Paul Rodgers and Jimmy Page), Kim Wilde, David Essex, John Cooper Clarke and Alexei Sayle.

The last few years have seen him making a name in his own right with his band The Jo Burt Experience, also known as The JBEx. Originally created as a songwriting development tool, in the last few years the band have become an outstanding live act, playing festivals and venues around the world. Jo will be launching his brand new album (working title: Spontaneous) in May 2017 with a series of ‘Nuts In May’ tour dates. This event is the official album launch.

This unique evening centres around the interview couch, with iconic actor and firm friend, Gary Shail (Quadrophenia, Give My Regards To Broad Street) chatting with Jo in an open and frank conversation about life in the fast lane, survival of the fittest and some of his most fascinating stories from the last 40 years in the music industry.

The show also includes a live performance from Jo and his wonderful band, featuring Dzal Martin (The Equals, Terry Reid) on guitar; Pat Davey (Jim Cregan, Paul Carrack) on bass and Emily Dolan Davies (Bryan Ferry, Kim Wilde) on drums. Songs from Jo’s three solo studio albums will be interspersed with his unique versions of some of the biggest hits that have shaped his amazing career (Wild Thing, Paranoid, 2-4-6-8 Motorway and more).
