Culture Mash, the animating Black history / Pop up culture event 4pm to 7pm on Saturday 19th November 2016 at Pembroke House, 80 Tatum Street, London, SE17 1QR.

Uncle Aug and Producer John Whelan will be bringing back their popular black history month event on Saturday 19th of November 2016.
The event will see a pop up event that has been funded by local landlords Notting hill and London and Quadrant. We have also partnered with other local TRA’s who have offered their help and support to the project.
The event is open to all in the community and is very much a celebration of local diversity within the BME community. It animates the vibrancy of Black culture and shows the impact of the local arts, community scene in Walworth.

As part of this event we will be hosting the following FREE family focused events:

  • African Drumming and dance.
  • Traditional African storytelling.
  • Music.
  • Refreshments and food.
  • African Art Workshop.
  • African Puppets.
  • African Acrobat.

Also, the event will host a conversation panel about the history and future direction for the local BME community to promote, diversity, community and local business within the community. Augustine from Uncle Aug said of the event, “Culture Mash is important as it is an alternative/ creative means to get community cohesion across to the wider community. This is our second year in partnership with John Whelan and we hope to use this project as a springboard to create an annual black history month carnival to promote the arts, local business at the wider BME community in Walworth.”

So come along and join the fun on the day and let’s celebrate our diversity and our creativity with a Walworth Culture Mash!
