BECTU screening of Half Way (2015)

Mon 7 Mar 2016 @ 19:00 · Events

Half WayJoin BECTU for a special screening of Half Way (2015).

Half Way documents a family as they go through the emotional and physical anguish of becoming homeless and living ‘halfway’ between homes.

Half WayHalf Way tells the personal story of director Daisy-May Hudson who, over a year, filmed her own family’s struggle to retain their dignity whilst waiting for council re-housing. But this is not the usual tale of gloom and despair in an increasingly difficult economic climate. This is an extraordinary story of courage and determination, a tale of family bonds that is both heart-breaking and life-affirming.

The screening is organised by members of the Writers Producers and Directors’ branch of BECTU. A Q&A with the film’s director Daisy-May Hudson and producer Alice Hughes will follow the screening and there’ll be a complimentary drink for everyone taking part.

This screening is the first in a season of films which BECTU will bring to audiences. More details on their Facebook page.
