Our second year celebrating diversity by screening films about transsexuals that give insight into the trans life.

The programme consists of:

  • In the Turn (2014)

In the TurnDirected by Erica Tremblay. 113 mins. Award-Winning documentary with an empowerment feeling: A young transperson faces intolerance and finally finds a warm welcome in the LGBT community.

  • What is Perfect? (2015)

Directed by Dmitry Zhitov. 12 mins. The definition of beauty and the relationship to parents is at the centre of this Miami drag queen documentary.

  • Tonight It’s Me (2014)

Tonight It's MeDirected by Dominic Haxton. 13 mins. A hustler and a transwoman meet in Los Angeles. They start playing a game…

  • Being Barbara (2013)

Directed by Guerreiro do Divino Amor. 13 mins. A documentary about Bernhard, who sometimes is Barbara, and Barbara, who sometimes is Bernhard.

  • Brace (2013)

Brace Directed by Alicia Eyo and Sophy Holland and starring Mike Aherne, Adam Gary and Jake Graf. 30 mins. On his first foray out onto London’s thriving gay scene, newly single Adam meets Rocky, a handsome and mysterious drifter.

  • Roxanne (2014)

Roxanne Directed by Paul Frankl and starring Miss Cairo and Thea Lamb. 14 mins. Roxanne is the story of a numb and lonely transgender sex worker, who is stuck in a routine of isolation and repetition. Her life is changed when she meets the precocious 11 year old, Lily, who has been abandoned by her mother.

  • Carl(a) (2011)

Carl(a) Directed by Eli Hershko and starring Joslyn DeFreece and Laverne Cox. 100 mins. Carla, a male to female pre-op transsexual who has been rejected by her family, contemplates how to come up with the cash needed to complete her transition. She then meets Sam, a regular great guy who likes her the way she is.
