All About Eve

ReShape and the Cinema Museum present the VITO Project, a series of free monthly screenings bringing generations of LGBTs together to provide an alternative space to mix, watch films and share ideas.

All About Eve (1950), written and directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz, stars Bette Davis, Anne Baxter, George Sanders and, in an early role, Marilyn Monroe.

This Oscar winning film has Davis playing Margo Channing, an aging Broadway star, and Anne Baxter as Eve Harrington, who insinuates herself into Channing’s life, ultimately threatening both her career and her personal relationships. One of the finest films ever made in Hollywood, this is a classic picture of bitchiness and back-stabbing in the theatre world. As Margo herself says: “Fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy night!”

The film will be introduced by Amy Lamé & Eion Kelly and followed by an open discussion.

The project is endorsed by BFI Flare, 56 Dean St, Gay’s the Word, ACT UP London, Gay Mates, a Change of Scene, the Cara Trust, I-Base, UK-CAB, Naz Project & Positively UK.

Doors open at 18.30 for a 19.30 start.
