poster for Open House at Cinema MuseumPlease join us for the SE1 Picture Palace Project exhibition at The Cinema Museum. Come and explore the history and hear wonderful memories of grand Picture Palaces and “cosy” cinemas! It’s free to get in and there will be free guided tours of the Museum between 10.00 and 17.00.

You’ll be able to study the cinema map, listen to interviews, record your memories, and add to project scrapbooks and research materials.

Starting at 10.30 there will be a special FREE guided walk (only 20 places!), exploring Picture Palaces from Waterloo via the Elephant to the Cinema Museum, with an exclusive peek inside the Coronet Theatre on the Old Kent Road.

Plus at 14.00 in our 30-seat cinema we are screening We Are All One, a film about the rich history of Bermondsey seen through the eyes of young people from the Downside Fisher youth club, produced in collaboration with Storymakers TV.
