The Cinema Museum is delighted to host this very special event. Dan Kamin invites you to experience the artistry of cinema’s greatest comedian from the inside, deconstructing Chaplin’s comedy with film clips, live demonstrations, audience participation, and a classic Chaplin short with live musical accompaniment by celebrated theatre, film and television composer Terry Davies. You’ll never look at comedy the same way again!

Dan trained Robert Downey Jr for his Oscar-nominated performance in Chaplin and created Johnny Depp’s comedy moves for Benny and Joon – and he also played the wooden Indian come to life in the cult classic Creepshow 2, and created the Martian girl’s weird movement for Tim Burton’s horror film spoof Mars Attacks! His impressive stage credits include worldwide performances for theatres, arts festivals and symphony orchestras.

Dan’s work celebrates the legacy of the silent film era. In addition to Funny Bones, his film work, and his extensive touring as a latter-day silent comedian, he has written two acclaimed books on Chaplin. His latest, The Comedy of Charlie Chaplin: Artistry in Motion has been called “the most complete and beautifully written book on the comedy of Charlie Chaplin … a joy to read.”

“Part Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin, mixed with Marcel Marceau, Andy Kaufman and Steve Martin. It adds up to a demented, charming and brilliant performance.”
