Chaplin Monument at Kennington Cross
chaplin We have great admiration and affection for Charles Chaplin, who was born locally, lived as a child in various addresses in this area and carried throughout his life the bleak memories of his experience at the Lambeth Workhouse site we currently occupy.

We have planned and designed a contemporary memorial statue for Kennington Cross which was an important area in the young Chaplin's life.

Our plans for the Beaufoy Institute include a dedicated Chaplin space showcasing both his creativity and his life in Lambeth.
