Our collection of cinema projection equipment



An arch beneath the railway in Vauxhall which was used to store projection equipment and many other items.

Some of the equipment - projectors, sound systems and projection miscellanea. Now with the whirlwind advance of electronic digital projection it's crucial to preserve this mechanical history.


In 2006 with the rent having almost doubled and our funder's revenue having declined, it was felt that this storage cost was a bit of a luxury and notice was given to the landlord that we would vacate early 2007.

Between March and August 2007 we emptied this store. The Projected Picture Trust and others took items which were duplicated or we had no space for. We had enormous help from a number of dedicated volunteers.
