Kennington Noir presents Gilda (1946)

Wed 16 Nov 2022 @ 19:30 · Events

Ballin Mundson (George Macready), owner of a Buenos Aires casino, learns that his new wife, Gilda (Rita Hayworth), shares a past with his right-hand man, Johnny (Glenn Ford). Things get complicated when Mundson mysteriously disappears.

Directed by Charles Vidor, Gilda is one of the great film noirs, famous for Rita Hayworth’s sultry performance of ‘Put the Blame on Mame’, the Jean Louis gowns that she enjoys showing off thoughout the film, and cinematographer Rudolph Maté’s lush photography.

Doors open at 18.30, for a 19.30 start.

Refreshments will be available in our licensed cafe/bar.
