Exploding Cinema presents Disposable Film

Sat 1 Oct 2016 @ 19:00 · Events

Exploding CinemaLondon’s longest running film club presents an evening of disposable shorts. If the camera on a device was never intended to be used for making a film, if the device itself is deemed ‘disposable’ once it becomes obsolescent, if no one in their right mind would think to tell a story using a flatbed scanner, a USB microscope, a plastic toy, a vehicle reverse camera, a phone on a selfie stick, a webcam, helmet cam or a flip cam, then it will be featured in this exciting night of cutting edge shorts.

Now in its sixth year, Exploding Cinema’s Disposable showcase has become the stuff of legend and controversy. Featuring the 2016 programme from the granddaddy of the strange format, San Francisco’s Disposable Film Festival, the Cinema Museum will be lit up from within by Exploding Cinema’s signature kaleidoscopic psychedelic projections providing a multi-coloured backdrop to this eclectic show.

Exploding CinemaExploding Cinema is an open access screening, accepting any and all submissions for this show until 15 September as long as they are under 20 minutes long and were made on a mobile phone or any other non-traditional camera. Get inspired, use your imagination, dig out the nanny cam you found at the car boot sale, the 3D printer of your rich friend or the Nokia in your kitchen drawer, and make a short!
