The Vito Project Presents We Were Here (2011)

Wed 25 Nov 2015 @ 19:30 · Events

ReShape and the Cinema Museum present the VITO Project, a series of free monthly screenings bringing generations of LGBTs together to provide an alternative space to mix, watch films and share ideas.

We Were HereWe Were Here is a 2011 documentary produced and directed by David Weissman and Bill Weber.

We Were Here is the first documentary to take a deep and reflective look back at the arrival and impact of AIDS in San Francisco. It explores how the city’s inhabitants were affected by, and how they responded to, that calamitous epidemic.

We Were HereThough a San Francisco-based story, We Were Here extends beyond the city and beyond AIDS itself. It speaks to our capacity as individuals to rise to the occasion, and to the incredible power of a community coming together with love, compassion, and determination.

We Were HereThe screening will be followed by an open discussion.

The project is endorsed by BFI Flare, 56 Dean St, Gay’s the Word, ACT UP London, Gay Mates, a Change of Scene, the Cara Trust, I-Base, UK-CAB, Naz Project & Positively UK.

Doors open at 18.30, for a 19.30 start.

Refreshments will be available in our licensed cafe/bar.
