Following on from last year’s evening discussing his own life and career, actor, writer and comedian Roy Hudd this time turns his attention to the greats of music-hall. Once again in conversation with former News Huddlines writer Glenn Mitchell, Roy will present clips of some of the notable names of the variety profession who were caught on film. Roy himself began in variety’s last days and made the acquaintance of many veterans of the profession. In some cases, novice comic Roy was on the same bill – as with his memorable encounter with Max Miller. On other occasions he came to know them socially, not least through his long-term involvement with the Grand Order of Water Rats. Roy’s stories, as ever, can fill an evening on their own, but we hope to squeeze in at least a few extracts along the way!
