Funny Bones: The Comedy of Charlie Chaplin

Fri 20 Jun 2014 · Events

Come celebrate 100 years of “The Little Tramp” with Dan Kamin, who trained Robert Downey Jr. for his Oscar-nominated performance in Chaplin (1992).

This one-of-a-kind event takes audiences on a magical excursion into Chaplin’s enchanted comic world through film clips, live performance, and the screening of a newly restored version of The Pawnshop, Chaplin’s short 1916 masterpiece.

The film will be accompanied by live music provided by pianist Martin Tilbrook Gardener. There’s lots of fun audience participation, and the program is one that kids will enjoy as much as adults.

In addition to teaching Downey to be Chaplin, Dan Kamin also created Johnny Depp’s comedy moves for Benny and Joon (1993). This multifaceted artist performs his own comedy shows in theatres and with symphony orchestras worldwide, and he’s the author of two acclaimed books on Chaplin. Take a look at Dan in action –
