Sci-fi Screenwriting Workshop

Sat 19 Nov 2011 @ 14:30 · Events

Screenwriter Barry Langford will help you bring your science fiction story to life for the screen. Barry will use clips and slides to present a fascinating introduction to screenwriting, and the workshop will then give you the chance to try out new-found skills with some practical assignments.

Here’s what previous participant Georgia Hardcastle had to say about the session: “He talked about screenwriting in general, how to lay out a script, important things to remember when writing a screen play, science fiction, the differences between science fiction and horror, and so much more … It was very informative, fun, and a great activity. An afternoon well spent.”

Barry Langford is a Reader in the Media Arts department at Royal Holloway, University of London, and is a practising professional screenwriter. His screenplays include the award-winning short film Torte Bluma (2004), with recent work including episodes of Thorne: Scaredycat for Sky, and The Sculptress and the Thief for Xingu Films (the production company behind Moon).

This event is expected to end at 17.30.
